Petha ,a heritage sweet of Agra

Panchi Petha offers an insight into the working of one of the Agra homegrown brands.The prime ingredients of this sweet are desi khand (country sugar),Benincasa Hispida also known as ash gourd or winter ๐Ÿˆ melon  .In some part of India it is known as bhua .Noori Darwaza is famous for production of petha . Earlier there were two or three varieties of petha, namely sada petha,and anguri petha .In photo this is  pan petha  with flavour and shape of pan.This is really amazing  how confectioners of Agra make such beautiful and tasty sweet with humble vegetable Ash gourd . Offcourse petha is heritage sweet of Agra  .

  1. Fortunately I had a visit to Agra this year and got the chance to eat this delicious sweet PETHA. It’s truly a delicious treat highly recommended which has a lot of mouth watering varieties one can go for it without getting confused. Although I’m not a fan of desi sweets but I really liked it.
