This winter elevate your taste bud with humble leaf vegetable "Bathua,,
Bathua is cultivated in Northern India and available during the winter season.It is known by different names as white goose foot,  fat-hen ,melde,  Lamb,s quarter . Chenopodium Album is the botanical name of Bathua.
Unfortunately young generation likes fast food it comes cheap and easily available.
There have been abnormal increase in adolescent diseases in the country.These diseases are a result of consumption of packed and processed food.However if the womens are indeed sincere towards safeguarding childrens health they should take step to streamline eating habit to save youngsters from such rapidly increasing diseases like obesity and high blood pressure.Bathua is rich in calcium, potassium, magnesium , vitamins 
 A,C and B6.It is low calorie, high protein, high fibrous vegetable.Culinary uses are same as spinach it is cooked in the same way as spinach.This can be used to make raita,.It can be mixed with lentiles to make dal (pulses). This can be used to a distinctive taste to roti,Paratha,and Puris.However it should be eaten in moderation because high amount of Oxalic Acid in Bathua can cause reduction in Calcium.Sometimes leads to Stomach pain and constipation . Pregnant women are advised to avoid eating this leafy green vegetable.It may cause  risk of miscarriage .Presentation is also very essential making food usually attractive which tempt to eat it .Do not forget to celebrate it, with a healthy sense of appreciation  .Stay healthy.
