Bengal Femine and Rangeya Raghav,,

Eighty years on there is still silence which resulted in three million deaths. Yes I am talking about Bengal Femine. This was an anthropogenic catastrophe of Bengal . But after eighty years these lines still resonates
"Bapu,bol, bol bol
Yeh hai Desh ki pukar
Sone ki is Bang Bhumi me
Machta Hahakar ,,.
There is no memorial any where in the world to commemorate the victims and this anthropogenic catastrophe. But there are literary archives in the form of reportage and novel  which depicts the pathos of Bengal Femine . In 1946 a novel Vishad Math was written by Rangeya Raghav . This novel depicts the sufferings from famine .This is as good as time as any to remember the playwrite ,poet and writer of 20th century because 2023 was centenary year of his birth . This is Tirumalai Nambakam Vir Raghav Acharya a Tamilr Brahmin  who was born on 17th January 1923 in Agra Uttar Pradesh India.. Better known by his pen name Rangeya Raghav .He did post graduate in Hindi from St.Jhon's College  Agra  .
He created an immense oeuvre of novel drama, stories , poetries  .His another work on Femine is a reportage,Toofano ke beech.h .He seamlessly blended his love for Hindi with his love for India . Prominent among his novels is "Kabtak pukaroon ,"(How long do I call )is one of celebrated novel. This serial Kabtak Pukaroon ,aired in  Door Darshan TV channel . Rangeya Raghav an uncommon genius bade adieu with his last novel "Akhri Awaz,,at the age of 39 on 12th September 1962 .No doubt he was bowed out after glorious but short innings. He spent a lot of time in Weir Tehsil of Bharatpur Rajasthan.Rangeya Raghav Mahila Mahavidyalaya in  Bharatpur Rajasthan is testimony to this fact . If Rangeya Raghav written in a language that used the Roman script,he would have gotten the Novel prize for literature . Call it destiny,or luck he didn't ' receive the recognition he deserves for his calibre or meritorious work....
